Using an external editor for publishing

This website is actually a blog. I make no secret of the fact that I use WordPress for the blog, but recently I desired to write for my blog more often. This led me to using text editors and then cutting and pasting to the blog via it’s admin interface. This was not optimal, and I am all about doing the optimal. I needed a blog aware software that would allow me to write and then post my blot entries.

Why am I using an external editor? Idea for post to the blog come to me at all times. I would rather have my posts written and then publish them without having to do a lot of work. This led me down the path of blog editing and journaling software.
I have an extensive collection of note taking and managing software, some of which do have blogging abilities built-in. I found using this software to be a little clunky in managing blog posting. I felt that I needed some kind of software that would allow me to post, and to post to different blogs from within one piece of software. Since I am a mostly Macintosh shop here, I felt that I would like it to be Mac-native software.
Doing a Google search of the internet I came across several blogging pieces of software. They ran the gamut of text editors that you had to configure manually to overly protective software, something like our Government right now. All I wanted was a text editor that would remember the articles, so I could move the blog if it worked out. What I found was Macjournal. There is a WindowsJournal if you want the same functionality for windows platform.
Macjournal organizes things into journals. I made a journal for each of my blogs. Then I set the blog server for each blog. I posted a couple of times to each blog using that software. I even made a normal journal journal where I keep thoughts and dreams and the rest. Macjournal also recognizes that some of us have more than one computer, so it can use a Mobile Me account to synchronize between my machines.
The price is very good for what I use it for. I’m finding that Mac software prices are often very reasonable for what they do, unless your name is Adobe, or Microsoft. This article was written and posted to the blog via Macjournal.
