MacJournal is software for the Macintosh by Mariner Software. It is software designed and built for Journaling, another word for diaries. The interesting thing about this software is that while it is very good for Journaling, it is also very good for posting to your blog. I guess that makes sense. This post is how to get it setup for your blog.
The first rule is to understand what kind of blogs it can post too. Most of the major blogging software use one of two formats for external apps to post to your website. In fact MacJournal can determine if there is a valid blog on your website, and which of the major systems it uses for external apps. See Below pict.

Once it determines that there is a site at that url, then it wants to know how to long in to make posts. I recommend setting up a user account that just has rights to post, and use that in all of these external tools. The second page looks like this:

The next page is what I call a recap. It shows you the categories that if found. You will need to return to this dialog and refresh the categories from time to Time. Here is the last page:

Now you have to do this on a Journal that you have created for this blog. Here is a list of my Journals
Each post is a page in your journal. MacJournal retains a copy of these pages which it stores locally. That means that there is now a copy of your posts on your server, and on your local machine. I also have Mobile Me. Right now with only one machine and the iphone, Mobile me is more of a back up system than a sync item. Enable sync with mobile me if you want to put these posts on the mobile me cloud as a back up.
There is one thing to look out for. When you copy the post to your blog, you should set the post to be scheduled. Set he post date a time to some time in the future. At least with my WordPress based blog I had a weird error, but the post posted. When I set the post for some time in the future, everything works. Bring up the inspector by clicking on the inspector button and you should see this on the inspector.

Just set that date to some date or time in the future.
