I just invented a term and I want to define it for you, because I feel that users of this blog are TechWarriors. Then I want you to learn of an extension for this term.
A TechWarrior is anyone who uses Tech to solve problems. In fact this person only wants to use tech to solve problems in their lives no matter how convoluted the system is. TechWarriors will go to any extreme to solve their problems with Tech. These people are the ones with gadgets on their belt like some improbable Batman.
A TechWise TechWarrior wants to use technology, but they understand that sometimes the old way is the still the best way. I believe that I am a TechWise TechWarrior. I tried for years to find a solution to my notebooks. I’ve used OneNote, CircusPonies Notebook, and even Yojimbo. What I found wasn’t that I need one program to take my notes. I’ve found that I needed something to organize and find my notes. Hence I am using DevonThink, and EagleFiler is there if you need just a good organization and searching tool.
I still have my notebooks, and am using them. I use a gel refill insert in a Fat Boy pen and write my notes into a blank page report style small Moleskine Notebook. My Notes go into the notebook, and then get transcribed into the more appropriate tool. Ideas for posts actually go into my posts area of Things to do. Ideas for stories or novels go as RTF into the appropriate folder of my writing DevonThink database. I augment my notes in the Moleskine by putting them into correct files into my DevonThink Database. I have to indicate when a note in the moleskine, so I have these small self inking stamps with OK or a big X. I mark the notes in my moleskine with the OK indicating entry or a X for not entered but no longer needed.
It is the goal of this Blog and the podcast on Saturday to help you be the best TechWise TechWarrior that you can be.
