Every Techwarrior need to carry their stuff with them. The question has arrived with what I carry in my bag. the stuff I carry has evolved as I decided to go as light as I can, but lately I need more computing power with me as I blog and post from the road. So here is what is in my bag and a reason for it.

What I carry in my bag

  • 15″ MacBook Pro 2008 edition(old keyboard)
  • MacBook Pro power supply
  • 6′ length of cat5 cable
  • Bluetooth Keyboard
  • Bluetooth mouse
  • Assorted usb thumb drives
  • 500 GB portable hard drive Firewire 800 capable
  • .7 mm lead refills for mechanical pencil
  • Eraser
  • Parker gel refills for pen
  • small bottle of naproxen sodium
  • small blank page reporter style Moleskin notebook
  • Training Materials
  • Fatboy Pen
  • All metal .7mm mechanical encil
  • iPhone and charger
  • Kindle

The Computer is self-explanatory. A lot of my office is contained within the confines of the computer. The length of cat5 comes for the period when hotels offered wired connection to the internet. Sometimes it is easier to connect through the wires than set up the wireless.

The mouse is because I really don’t like to use the trackpad. The keyboard is because my keyboard has a sticky key and the wireless keyboard is better. Most of my files are on the 500 GB Firewire 800 drive, so I have to bring it along.

The office supplies are self explanatory. I bring m Kindle because I send a lot of material to the Kindle to be converted to readable form. Can’t get that from the iPhone app.

The training material is for anything that I might be doing this trip for. Hope you enjoyed what was in my bag
