Another approach to the taking of notes is the use of index cards. There are several ways to make use of these cards. One of them is to use it as a sort of to do minder. Another is straight note taking. And another is to use the note cards like some large kind of business card.
The to do manager system works like this. For every task that you must do you create a card. You put this card into a deck. Then you do the next card in the deck. When you completed it, write down that you completed the card as well as the date and time of completion. These completed cards are your skins, tokens of completion. You should also seed your deck with fun things to prevent the deck from being just work. You can use this system with others to form a more perfect system depending on your needs.
The other thing to use Index Cards for is to take notes. Levenger has a system for binding note cards into a notebook like arrangement. This uses their circa notebook systems. YOu can easily remove cards from the notebook. The way I use notecards requires them to be in a jotter. A Jotter is a way of storing cards and write on them at the sametime. The Jotter is usually of leather and holds one card out of the jotter for instant writing. I got mine at Levenger’s.
The last way to use index cards as note taking device is to use it also as a business card. At stationers you can get a thousand or so index cards printed up with your contact information. Then when you need to write something down for the other person you can write on the index card and hand it to them along with your contact information. Levenger does this service and has several types of cards for you to choose from.
If all you want to do is take notes, then you can get away with using the cards you can get from a office supply store. I know that OfficeMax also have jotters. I recommend that you get blank index cards, as that allows you to write in any direction on the cards. You can also make your own cards. Just get some card stock from an office supply store, get a disc cutter as well. And then cut them up. You can print on the card stock, so you can actually make a form.
