This is a new feature of the blog. In this post which will be posted every Saturday is, if you will, a synopsis of the week, and my life. It’s going to be a bit more personal, and tell you things about me.
This week began, as all weeks do with me contemplating what posts I am going to make during the week. I seem to be my most creative on Sunday. I also had to prepare the paperwork packet for the class I did the previous week. Always when I am training for another Training Center there is a lot of paperwork. Thank God that they allow me to assemble the documents in a pdf and upload that into their computers. During this process I had to convert paper into electronic documents, which meant working with DevonThink. During the previous week a new beta was pushed out for DevonThink which introduced more templates. This prompted the Article on using those Templates.
As I was working on that article, I began to see new uses for DevonThink, but I hate having my files cooped up in DevonThink’s files, so I wondered if EagleFiler had either templates or a way to make template files. I answered that question with the post on using the template system in EagleFiler.
As I was working with the Stationery in EagleFiler a question popped in my mind about the security of a database that essentially was a file system. This meant sensitive information would be in the clear. I learned about EagleFiler’s use of Mac OS X sparse encrypted bundles. I told you about that in this post.
I felt a need for more than one ad network running ads on my site. I looked around and decided upon Project Wonderful. The reasons were pretty clear. I don’t get paid on click throughs which is tough to get people to do even if they know they are not going to pay for it. Rather I am paid based on several factors which include an auction system, and how many page views I get. The more page views I get the more advertisers will want to be on my site, and so they will bid more to be on my site. I think that’s more fair to all concerned.
A student wrote me to ask a bit more about Java ClassPaths. I decided to write a complete post trying to demystify the whole classpath situation. I think I did pretty well at it, but most of my readers on this site are really not programmers. I can tell by the response my EagleFiler, and other specific how to articles do.
The last thing I did was start to shop around for another HDTV. I kept wondering about the numbers and what do they really mean. I wrote a post about what I find out. That seems to be what I do most here is solve my problems and then tell you how I did it, or create reference material.
Well this TechWarrior is preparing for the upcoming Christmas Holidays. Be sure to come by Christmas day to see the present I have for everyone. There were other things that snuck in like I launched Instructor in a Box retail. If you need training and don’t have enough for a full class for the normal Training Centers, i can come to you. The classes I am offering are here. I don’t need full classes but I do need a minimum, which floats based on travel and the course. use our Contact Us Form to talk about pricing and schedules. If you want to know about schedules just look at my schedule page.
Be seeing you next week.
