In a previous post I suggest some things to put in a travel first aid kit, but some of the readers got a little angry with me. They wanted a list so that they could go out and buy what they needed. So here is the TechWarrior Travel First Aid Kit.
Here is the list of things to get for the first aid kit. The quantities I recommend are for a Sunday night – Friday night stay. This kit goes in your checked baggage, because of the ointment.

- Container – recommend zippered bag
- Multi Antibiotic ointment – I like the one with pain relief included
- 12 Tablets of Naproxen Sodium or 24 of Ibuprofen
- sheet of decongestant(at least 20 doses)
- 2 X 2.25 by 3 inch bandaid
- 10 X 5/8 by 2 1/4 inch band-aid
- 10 X 3/4 by 3 inch band-aid
- a pair of tweezers
I keep the travel first aid kit up to that level of things. A couple of optional things that I add is a chemical light stick, and a led flashlight. Also my pair of tweezers is on my swiss army knife which also must be put in my checked baggage. The pair of tweezers is for dealing with splinters or anything else that needs tweezing.
Again this kit is for minor emergencies. If you get a cut larger than can be handled by these bandages, seek medical help. If you are bleeding profusely, and it cannot be controlled, seek medical help.
Feel Free to add whatever you want to the kit. This has worked for me in the past, and it will work for you. Why make my own kit? I don’t like what went into some of the kits and I found myself only using certain parts of travel first aid kits. I save money only stocking what I want. The decongestant is for any colds that may crop up during travel. The Naproxen sodium is for any pains and fever, and a single pill does me for about 8-12 hours.
