Well the experiment is over and it was a huge success. We will be doing Saturday posts from now on, ad this review of the week will be posted on Sunday. Now on to the review of last week after the break.

Monday saw me writing about something I know quite a bit about, and that is building and doing presentations. In my business making and doing presentations is part of the job. The problem is that a lot of my competitors and colleagues think that the slide should be all that they hand out. I try as much to use better techniques for my slide shows, and that makes it impossible for me to use them as handouts. I did find one thing that was unusual, and that is the Basic Structure of any presentations is the same, and I discussed that on Monday.

Tuesday I wrote about using Pages as a page layout program. Ever since I changed over to Macintosh full time, I have been looking at the iWork family of products. I am impressed with how much they have crammed into these programs. These are not dumbed down products. They are professional quality office products. Pages has two modes which makes it unlike any other word processor. The second mode is page layout which allows you to work with a document like it was Pagemaker..

Wednesday, I wrote about the datatypes that Base has when it makes a database using the built in engine. The reason that I am so interested in this database is that there is no reason to even have MS Access anymore. If you want to make a clean break from Microsoft, the OpenOffice, and the excellent macintosh port of OpenOffice(NeoOffice) are very good replacements.

Thursday, I wrote again on how to take reading notes. I keep getting the same complaint from all adults in my class about not knowing how to take notes on their reading, so I wrote my response.

Friday I wrote about a service that does something for me that I consider almost vital. As part of my strategy to bring people to my website, I need to keep he recent couple of weeks of posts in front of my twitter followers. I use Twaitter’s scheduling system to tweet about my posts and have those tweets play at different times of the day. It does seem to be working.

Saturday I posted on using EagleFiler with the 43 Folder to do system. I even provided a link to a completed 43 folders library for EagleFiler. Part of what makes this work is scanning in receipts and invoices for payment at a later time. That means a good OCR system. Luckily PDFpen exists for Mac users.

Well another week has gone by and Apple still has not realized how important I am and sent me an iPad to look at and tell you about. :) I guess I am not that important to them. If I do get a reviewer’s device, I will surely let you know. It should be another 30 days until the device is out in the wild. The one thing I will not do is wait in line for it like I did for my iPhone 3GS .

I am looking for a 4GS wireless internet connection device. The thing is that there is very few carriers carrying an all you can consume plan for anything less than the national debt. I’m telling all the Carriers right now that if they offered their 4GS with an all you can consume really high speed connection they could blank the field. They need to realize that all you can consume means just that, and they have to take it into account. The good thing is that 4GS is just one format, and so you should be able to move your device to another carrier easier.

Can’t wait for the ATT iPhone monopoly to be gone. Okay, Be prepared, and do good work.
