Who should own your smartphones? | Mobilize – InfoWorld

This question should be addressed by every corporation, company, and sole proprietorship. For me the concern of having business information stored on a personal device compromises my information security. What Employee in their right mind will submit their device to the Corporate IT department to ensure the wipe of corporate data from the device, when they have just been fired? Holding severance checks for compliance with an exit scrup of their device can be dicey in some jurisdictions. Also if the Employee Complies and you brick their phone? Welcome to lawsuit city.

Remember to consult your legal counsel. You mileage may vary jurisdiction by jurisdiction.
