Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrid Preview – HotHardware:

“The Seagate Momentus XT mates 4GB of solid state storage with a traditional 2.5’ hard drive in an attempt to bridge the current gap between hard drives and SSDs. “

I think that if you want performance from your massive storage device this hot little hard drive will be what you need.  A hard drive with a flash memory section could end up increasing the responsiveness of your computer by putting frequently used files and data into the SSD portion of the drive.  It does this without drivers which means that the software is in the chips of the drive.  It comes in the 2.5″ form factor.  If this works We might find these drives in our Laptops pretty soon.

Earlier if you want to buy one and install it yourself.
